Welcome to the Montgomery County Maryland chapter of
Hearing
Loss Association (HLAA). HLAA is a national, non-profit,
non-sectarian, educational organization devoted to the
welfare and interests of those who cannot hear well.
HLAA and our members are catalysts who make mainstream
society more accessible to people who are hard of hearing.
We accomplish this through education, advocacy, and
self help.
Meetings
are held on the 2nd Tuesday every other month
from September to June - 7:30 to 9:00 pm at:
Rockville
Public Library

(ODHH).
Hearing assistance is available at the
meetings:
The library meeting room is equipped with an audio
loop system for people who have a telecoil, aka t-switch,
in their hearing aids or cochlear implant.
The chapter also makes every attempt to provide CART
for people who cannot benefit from the listening system.
CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is
provided by a certified court reporter who captures
everything that is spoken at the meeting and displays
it on a large screen in the room. Watch this page for
announcements of CART availability for each meeting
date.
