Welcome to the Montgomery County Maryland chapter of Hearing Loss Association (HLAA). HLAA is a national, non-profit, non-sectarian, educational organization devoted to the welfare and interests of those who cannot hear well. HLAA and our members are catalysts who make mainstream society more accessible to people who are hard of hearing. We accomplish this through education, advocacy, and self help.

Hearing assistance is available at the meetings:

The library meeting room is equipped with an audio loop system for people who have a telecoil, aka t-switch, in their hearing aids or cochlear implant.

The chapter also makes every attempt to provide CART for people who cannot benefit from the listening system. CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is provided by a certified court reporter who captures everything that is spoken at the meeting and displays it on a large screen in the room. Watch this page for announcements of CART availability for each meeting date.
